Barcelona summer exchange program

Barcelona is a city in Spain located on the northeast coast of the Iberian Peninsula.  Many students love Barcelona for its weather with mild, humid winters and warm, dry summers.  It is most popular for famous sites such as the Gothic Quarter and the works of architect Antoni Gaudi.

TWO WORLDS UNITED program length of study can range from one week, usually during a domestic break, to an academic year, encompassing a couple academic terms, to an entire degree program that spans several years. The most common are the TWO WORLDS UNITED summer and semester long programs that cover either the spring or fall semester. There are also winter and summer semester programs. The winter semester programs, for public, 4-year universities, are usually more focused on a specific area of the countries culture due to the shortened time students have in the country.

Living in a foreign country is undoubtedly the best way to learn another language.

At first TWO WORLDS UNITED students can find it difficult to understand but gradually, with support and encouragement from the host family and new friends, the language, and the confidence to experiment with it, comes.

TWO WORLDS UNITED has few language prerequisites so the choice of destination need not be influenced by your language ability, but by your motivation to become an exchange student.

No matter the destination, the one memory foreign language exchange students always share in common – and one TWO WORLDS UNITED students find it difficult to understand until it happens to them – is the first time they dreamed in their second language. Will this happen to you on your TWO WORLDS UNITED exchange?

Costs

Programs vary depending upon program length, country, content and other factors. Most program costs include insurance and other risk management components, especially health insurance. For additional information on the TWO WORLDS UNITED Programs fees click here

A Two Worlds United short term exchange usually takes place during the summer months of July-August. Students do not attend school and are instead given a brief introduction to the language of their host country with heavy emphasis on sightseeing and cultural learning. This program is quite popular with North American students.

Student Exchange Program

TWO WORLDS UNITED is an educational foundation that gives teenagers the opportunity to broaden their horizons by living in a country abroad for an academic year, semester or several weeks during the summer.  For more than 15 years, Two Worlds United Educational Foundation has worked with students and teachers in more than 36 countries of the world to provide exceptional intercultural experiences.

A TWO WORLDS UNITED student exchange program is a program in which a student, typically in secondary or higher education, chooses to live in a foreign country to learn, among other things, language and culture. These programs are called ‘exchanges’ because originally the goal was an exchange of students between different countries. In the TWO WORLDS UNITED student exchange programs no trade off is actually required, so a student is allowed to go to another country without finding a counterpart in that country to exchange with. Students live with a carefully selected Two Worlds United host family, who can be a traditional family, a single parent, or a couple with no children at home. Host families are vetted by the Two Worlds United organization co-ordinating the program.

There is no better way to learn about another country, its customs and the way of life of its people than by experiencing it firsthand through an Exchange Student Program.  As an international exchange student, you will eat food native to the new country, experience new traditions and learn the way people your own age live day to day.  Thousands of students every year enhance their lives by studying abroad.  They gain skills they could never have learned by staying home. Here are some of the areas in which students can grow:

Maturity -  Students see the world in a different way, become more patient, flexible and learn to appreciate different lifestyles.

Self-confidence -  Students learn to make more decisions on their own and become more confident and self-assured.

Making Friends -  Students make new friends from another country,  often for a lifetime.

Becoming a global citizen -  Students become more adept in not only learning about another culture but in understanding their own.

College and future career -  Students are more competitive as college applicants and in their future career.
